Healthy deep ruby. Some attractive evolution – positively perfumed. Silky texture. Some pzazz to this wine. GV (JR)

Very winning combination of ripe fruit and fine structure. Will presumably fade long before the grand vin, Léoville Las Cases. (JR)
Weak rim. Lovely balance and development on the nose. I actually prefer this to the Las Cases! Certainly much more open. Already a good drink with everything in place. (JR)
Medium red-ruby. Redcurrant and nutty oak. Less dense than the 2004, showing a distinctly cooler black cherry flavor and a slightly tart edge. Quite tight at this early stage of its life in bottle, with the tannins a bit sullen today.
