Dense, liquorice nose with some meatiness and then much, much simpler on the palate than on the nose. Where's the lyricism? Finishes pretty dry and austere. (JR)
Some aroma and then quite jagged stodgy dry tannins. Pretty solid! Just a little spark missing. Could do with a bit livelier fruit. (JR)
Smudgy. Rather odd oaky notes on the nose – not mellifluous – tough, it’s actually rather wonderful on the palate. Racy and distinguished. Tricky one, I wonder if I am just very sensitive to the off, strange barrel… (JR)
