Note di degustazione
The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny Les Combottes presents an intriguing and inviting mélange of dark red cherries, mint, licorice and spices. There is wonderful depth to the fruit as the wine continues to open up in the glass. This is a decidedly dark, powerful style of Chambolle, but it works, and quite beautifully, too. It will be interesting to see the direction the Combottes takes over the coming years.

The lower-end wines are marked by the year to a significantly greater extent than the top wines. Importer: Diageo Chateau and Estate Wines Company, New York, NY; tel. (212) 419-1400
Medium red. Lovely lift to the aromas of dark raspberry and flowers. Silky-sweet and creamy but showing excellent energy for the vintage, with harmonious acidity giving shape to the black raspberry fruit. The broad, long finish features suave, fine-grained tannins. An excellent showing today: I caught this wine at an awkward stage when I tasted it last year from barrel.
