Punteggio 90/100 · Josh Raynolds, Mar 2014

Bright violet color. Dark berries, licorice, smoky minerals and spicecake on the fragrant nose. Sappy and bright in the mouth, offering lively blackcurrant and bitter cherry flavors and a touch of candied flowers. Closes spicy and long, with building minerality and silky, even tannins that add shape to the wine.

Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2013-2023, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Dec 2013

The 2011 Saint Joseph is a hidden gem. Offering up mineral and gunpowder-like qualities, with plenty of olive, bacon, blackberry and currant aromas emerging with time in the glass, this medium to full-bodied effort has juicy acidity, good concentration and enough tannin to keep it drinking nicely for upwards of a decade. It should be a serious value and is worth seeking out. Proprietor Stephane Robert is knocking it out of the park from his tiny cellar located in Saint Peray. Producing up to three Cornas in any given vintage, he also releases four whites from Saint Peray and a serious Saint Joseph.
