Note di degustazione
Another very successful vintage, the 1989 Prieure-Lichine has a dark garnet color with some amber at the edge. The wine shows full body, soft tannins, and a sweet black currant nose intermixed with notes of licorice, smoked herbs, and tobacco. The wine is very lush, with some heady alcohol and plenty of glycerin. It is quite a seductive, mouthfilling effort from Prieure-Lichine. Anticipated maturity: Now-2007. Last tasted, 3/01.

Ready for drinking and starting to dry out a bit from the big tannic structure. Medium-ruby color, dusty berry and tobacco aromas. Medium-bodied, with velvety tannins and a medium, slightly dry finish.--1989 Bordeaux horizontal. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 1999
The 1989 Prieure-Lichine is one of the richest and fullest wines this property has made. Substantial in size, with gobs of ripe currant fruit, full body, soft, plentiful tannins, and a heady alcohol degree, this velvety wine should prove charming in its youth, but easily last for 15 or more years. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Feb 1993, www.robertparker.com
