1976 Filhot

The 1976 Filhot has a clear colour and actually looks more youthful than the 1979. The nose is much cleaner and more attractive than other vintages from the Seventies with barley sugar, crème brûlée, dried mango and quince aromas, all nicely defined. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, good depth and plenty of fresh orange peel and mandarin notes towards the finish. This is not going to improve in bottle so if you see this, pop open and enjoy. Tasted at the vertical tasting at Château Filhot.
