Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2018-2028, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jul 2020

The 2001 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru is drinking beautifully, bursting with perfumed aromas of wild berry fruit, exotic spices, orange rind, forest floor and plums. Medium to full-bodied, supple and enveloping, it's satiny and succulent, with melting tannins and a deep core of fruit, concluding with an expansive, sapid finish. From an underrated vintage, it's a brilliant example of what makes Domaine Dujac's wines so captivating at full maturity.

First bottle: Slightly austere nose but with some development. Lots of acidity and a little severe and scrawny. Far from the fleshiest. Rather drying tannins. Not much fun with some vegetal aromas. Not much fruit weight so difficult to suggest when to drink this one, though there is reasonable length. Second bottle: exactly the same. Drinking range is an estimate. (JR)

Good full red. Complex nose melds red fruits, minerals, menthol, herbs and underbrush, plus a light note of roasted vegetables. Rich on entry, then broader than the Chambolle, with the menthol note repeating on the palate. Finishes with fine tannins and very good length.
