2001 La Gomerie

Dark. Dull crimson. Full, rather porty nose. Painful acidity. Not nearly ready. A bit thick and sweet. A lack of juicy fruit in the middle. Syrupy. (JR)

This exuberant, smoky, earthy offering reveals sweet, concentrated, fleshy, mocha-infused blackberry and cherry flavors with hints of cedar wood and vanilla. Opulent and chewy, this unfined, unfiltered Merlot’s flamboyant personality is nearly ostentatious. Nevertheless, it is hard to resist. Enjoy it over the next decade.

Full, deep red. Enticing aromas of black raspberry, mocha, tobacco and roasted nuts. Suave, sweet and aromatic in the mouth, with nuanced flavors of black raspberry, minerals and chocolate. Ripe, subtle and persistent on the back end, with lovely aromatic lift. Very sexy wine.
