Note di degustazione
From a difficult vintage for the Right Bank, the 2003 Château Barde-Haut is fully mature and ready to go, and I suspect it's not going to get better. More red fruits, spice, dried tobacco, and leather notes flow to a medium-bodied Saint-Emilion that has a rounded, evolved style.

This attractive, fully mature St. Emilion exhibits notes of Christmas fruitcake, licorice, red and black currants, and spice box. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.
(85% merlot and 15% cabernet franc) Medium red. Superripe aromas of cherry syrup, chocolate and minerals. Sweet, fat and flavorful; chewy and mouthfilling, with slightly roasted red and darker berry notes complicated by burnished oak and sandalwood. A big, ripe, chewy wine that finishes with sweet tannins. These later-harvested vines are on cold soil near Troplong-Mondot and clearly benefited from this terroir in 2003.
