(just 150 liters made; Faiveley will sell 150 bottles): Good bright, deep red. Extremely reticent nose hints at medicinal cherry and earth. Then shockingly dense and sappy in the mouth, with great energy to its saline, soil-driven flavors of red fruits, cocoa and underbrush. Spreads out to saturate every square millimeter of the palate, finishing with suave, seamless tannins and strong saline earth tones.

Wow, what a nose! This is kaleidoscopic in its breadth with exotic spice notes, anise, sandalwood, clove and hoisin. The sheer complexity of the nose is more than matched by the silky, energetic and highly seductive broad-scaled flavors that ooze a very fine dry extract and minerality on the mouth coating finish that seems to go on and on. A monumental Musigny of class and grace yet for the all its size, it's a wine of finesse. Tasted: Jan 14, 2013. Drink: 2030+
