Note di degustazione
The 1988 Musigny Grand Cru is one of the few vintages that I have not tasted (a sentence I thought I would never write). Containing 100% whole bunches, it has a stunning bouquet with blackberry, briary and wild hedgerow, beautifully defined and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with perfect balance, a crescendo of flavours towards its ineffably complex finish. The length is just awesome, a Musigny that lives up to the billing. Just one barrel and one feuillette were made. Tasted at the Roumier 1988 dinner at Noizé.

Looks very mature and pale. Not much nose and light and delicate, fresh and jewelly but not much charm. A little tannin STILL in evidence! Light and correct but chewy still. Just not quite enough substance and personality – just a little skinny. (JR)
