1983 Musigny

Roumier's Musigny is a great wine. It is sensual and elegant, but extremely ripe and rich, dark in color with an intense, supple lushness to its fruit. It has great balance and should drink beautifully between 1992-2000. The 1983s from Roumier are among the very best of the vintage. Roumier always makes top-quality burgundy, but his 1983s are among the best I have ever tasted, including the sensational wines he produced in 1969, 1976, and 1988. His 1983s have an opulence and richness to go along with their power and firm tannins. These are truly great red burgundies-it is well worth a careful search of the marketplace to find them.
