1996 Pelago

The top Umani Ronchi wine: 50% cabernet sauvignon, 40% montepulciano and 10% merlot. Blackish garnet-ruby. Full nose of cassis, clove and cinnamon. Sizable in impact, with rich, long flavors. But currently shows a slight dryness and some heat on the finish, and the substantial tannins need some additional bottle aging. A very interesting and promising wine that not yet entirely together.
