Sweet, blackcurrants and cream sort of nose – really quite harmonious. Fresh too. Nicely judged and very smooth, even if not for the very long term. (JR)

A soft, seductive 2007, this blend of 80% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon possesses front end loaded, rich berry fruit intermixed with cedar, roasted herbs, and soil undertones. Exuberant and medium to full-bodied with a hedonistic lushness as well as silky tannins, it will offer delicious drinking over the next 7-8 years.
Good ruby-red. Syrupy black fruits and licorice on the nose. Juicy and nicely concentrated, with good intensity to the black fruit flavors. Youthfully serious wine, finishing with a firm tannic spine, a slight dryness and good length.
Deep brooding brownish crimson. Toasty, spicy nose and then very dry mouth-puckering tannins without quite enough fruit in the middle to compensate. Very dry finish but some energy here. Quite heavy and trying hard to be unctuous. A bit brutal on the finish. (JR)
