Note di degustazione
The 1984 La Conseillante is a wine from an appalling growing season that actually bucks the trend, for they produced a fine Pomerol that was at least drinkable! I have hardly ever seen bottles, but the one or two I have encountered display a curious balsam note on the light, ephemeral nose. The palate can be little ferrous and obviously over the years it has turned dry and left a meat/dried blood residue. Bottles ought to have been consumed by now. Tasted blind and taken from Neal Martin's book, "Pomerol".

Muddy ruby. Quite light. Sweet and round on the nose. Really rather fresh and well balanced and easy. Very agreeably mature claret – not that recognisable as Pomerol. Drying out on the finish though. Rose petals – lots of mutterings of 'burgundy' round the table. Dry end. A bit tart. (JR)
A success for the vintage, the 1984 La Conseillante has a fragrant bouquet of jammy raspberry fruit and spicy oak. On the palate, it is smooth, ripe, and medium bodied. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 4/91.
