Boillot's 2012 Meursault Les Charmes wraps around the palate with tons of pure texture and volume. Tangerine, honey, flowers and savory herbs flesh out in an oily, layered Meursault. A big, statuesque finish rounds things out nicely. This is a decidedly opulent, tropical Charmes. I would prefer to drink the 2012 sooner rather than later.

Bright pale-medium yellow. Pristine aromas of lemon, vanilla and stone. Delicate and tangy on the palate, with lovely fruit intensity and definition to the flavors of lemon candy, white peach and lichee. The most precise of these 2012s to this point and subtle and long on the aftertaste.

Based in Meursault and farming some of the finest vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, Henri Boillot is a leading address in Burgundy. He crafts fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but the estate is best known for its flagship monopole vineyard, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos de la Mouchère.
