The 2001 Bourgogne Pinot Noir is drinking beautifully, unwinding in the glass with aromas of cherries, berries, raw cocoa and subtle soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, it's nicely concentrated, with racy acids, chalky but melting tannins and a long, penetrating finish. This is an exceptional example of its modest appellation.
