Quite powerful and smells oaky to me, even though there is disagreement about how much new oak is involved. Jewel bright and very good authenticity. Dry finish. Tasted blind, this wine would be easy to take for a village wine. Quite a bit of structure and tannin still. Lovely balance of ripe fruit and framework. My score may even be a bit conservative. Bravo! (JR)

Palish garnet. Succulently ripe but not oversweet fruit. Fresh and delicate but surprisingly long. Straightforward, restrained and elegant, especially at this level. (JH)
