Hint of cheesiness on the nose. Lots of ripe fruit and almost opulence. Well expressed even if far from the most distinctive wine in this line-up of 38 Clos Vougeot 2011s. Lip smacking and just a little tart. Relatively lightweight. Finishes a little hollow. (JR)

Rich start with damson character. Dense. Dry. A tad pinched. (JR)
Good bright, deep red. Cherry, rose petal, mocha and game on the nose, plus a hint of metallic minerality. Dense, sappy and youthfully tight; less expansive today than the Echezeaux and more peppery too. Has a serious spine for aging but seems a tad dry in the early going.
