Light gold. Deeply pitched orchard and pit fruit aromas are lifted by notes of lemon zest and chalky minerality. Rich but lively and precise, offering intense nectarine and pear skin flavors and a touch of anise. Closes on a dusty, stony note, with lingering spiciness and very good length.

Made from 100% Roussanne, the 2011 St.-Peray Roussanne exhibits a tell-tale rose petal, lychee nut and marmalade-scented nose, more structure and tannin, and a full-bodied, rich style. Impressive wines from Cornas as well as the emerging appellation of St.-Peray have been produced by Stephane Robert. All three of the 2010 Cornas are brilliant examples of wines from this bucolic appellation sitting in a natural amphitheater (largely decomposed granite and gravel) with exceptional terroirs and expositions for most of its vineyards.
