Brambled hedgerow fruit, orange peel, black tea and blackberries, an attractive wine from this excellent property, but a flash of heat throws the palate out of balance on the finish. André Lurton owner, 40% new oak for ageing.

Showing beautifully, the 2009 Château Couhins-Lurton has loads of ripe currant and black cherry fruits intermixed with notions of wild mint, tobacco, damp earth, and smoke. Medium to full-bodied, plump, and undeniably delicious, it has present yet sweet tannins, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish, all making for an outstanding Graves to enjoy any time over the coming decade.
Screwcap. Deep gold. Opulent, pungent nose. Crisp, delineated finish. This wine has it all! Like a really lively Pavillon Blanc! Lift and density with strong lanolin notes. Starting to taste like a Sémillon… (JR)
Not much nose. Thick, sweet tea-leaves flavour. Quite a bit of alcohol. (JR)
