The 2009 Nuits St. Georges Les Pruliers is another large-scaled beauty. Seamless and textured, the Pruliers impresses for its fabulous energy. The 2009 needs time to full absorb its oak, but it is dazzling even at this early stage. Layers of fruit build to the intense, palate-staining finish. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029. Good medium red. Musky, soil-driven aromas of strawberry, tobacco and iron. Sappy, saline and rich in extract, with enticing sweetness to the flavors of strawberry, spices and earth. The tactile finish features dusty tannins and repeating notes of red fruits and underbrush. This should age well but it's sexy already.
