Cask sample . Very deep crimson. A certain green note, as though there are some leaves in here. Then pretty uncompromising tannins. Very, very inky finish. (JR)

Notes of plum, spice and black pinot fruit combine with earthy, gorgeously sappy and sweet medium full flavors that display really fine length and beautiful balance. The flavors are quite firmly structured but there is so much mid-palate extract that this should age very well indeed. Allen Meadows, Burghound, Jan01,2005.
