Medium red. Very ripe, slightly reduced aromas of redcurrant, mocha, tobacco and nutty oak. Fatter and fuller than the Damodes, with a lovely silky texture for the year and very good breadth. Not at all overly sweet, though. Finishes with sweet tannins.

Deep red. Reduced aromas of redcurrant, smoked meat, animal fur and nutty oak. On the palate, unusually showy for this typically austere wine, as the malolactic fermentation finished early. Then fat, sweet, rich and supple, with impressive texture and a sweetly oaky, very persistent finish.
