Note di degustazione
Fabulously aromatic, the Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes displays deep scents of violets, ripe cherries, and sweet oak. Full-bodied, elegant and truly delicious, this chewy, floral, sweet currant-packed, complex and intense wine will benefit from 5 years of cellaring and hold for 8+years. This note is the result of tastings I did in Burgundy between January 7 and January 29. The wine was tasted from cask, not bottle. Pinot Noir, a fragile varietal, reacts poorly to fining, filtration, and careless bottling techniques, I recommend caution when considering buying a red burgundy based on cask samples. I called it as I tasted it, and hope the bottled wine reflects the quality of the samples I was provided. Importer: Neal Rosenthal, Select Vineyards, Shekomeko, NY; tel. (800) 910-1990.

Cassis and mineral aromas, with a more noticeable roasted aspect. Juicy, peppery and very tightly wound; currently showing less texture and pliancy than the Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Vieilles Vignes, as well as less depth. A tougher style, very closed today and hard to taste. But certainly intensely flavored.
