Polished and perfumed. Big and bold – far from subtle and still with some green tannins on the end but it does have something to say for itself and probably has a future. (Average group score: 14.5) (JR)

Soft, round, and evolved, the plum/garnet-hued 2003 offers sweet scents of black cherries, plums, and figs, medium to full body, a charming fleshiness, and low acidity. Enjoy this seductive wine over the next 7-10 years.
Dark purple. Rather raw nose. Aggressive tannins and acidity. Awkward. (JR)
Deep, dark healthy crimson. Neat, well mannered, tea leaf refreshment on the nose. Quite spicy, even very slightly soapy, but interesting and not overdone. Well balanced. Quite dry sandy tannins on the finish but thoughtful winemaking making the best of what's there. Lovely texture. (JR)
Informazioni sul produttore

A stone’s throw from Saint-Julien, Ch. de Camensac was long underperforming, but – under the ownership of the Merlaut-Villars family – was totally restructured, and quality transformed.
