Very pale crimson. Very light in body and colour. A fresh elegant waft of classic claret but dry on the end. Not for Australians. (JR)

Slightly simple boiled sweet/jujube aromas. Lively fruit quality though. Acid a little pronounced but fine tannins and well put together. (JR)
While austere and astringent, this is a solidly made 2001 offering pleasant herb and currant-tinged flavors, a hint of wet stones/damp earth, and a medium-bodied finish. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.
The wine seems to have taken on a bit of flesh in bottle. Healthy crimson. Blackberry scents with some softness and a spine of acidity. Lots of tannin, not pure but an ok drink from bottle. (JR)
Informazioni sul produttore

A stone’s throw from Saint-Julien, Ch. de Camensac was long underperforming, but – under the ownership of the Merlaut-Villars family – was totally restructured, and quality transformed.
