Punteggio 92/100 · Josh Raynolds, Nov 2013

Vivid ruby-red. An intense, mineral-accented bouquet displays scents of fresh red berries, incense and smoky herbs. Lively but deeply flavored, with spicy cherry and raspberry flavors and subtle floral pastille and bay leaf nuances. The floral quality builds with air and carries through the impressively persistent finish, which features dusty tannins and a whiplash of sweet red fruit. This one looks like a good cellar candidate.

A small step down, yet still outstanding, the 2010 Pinot Noir Knox Alexander has lively crushed berries, wild flowers, forest floor, toasted spice and hints of green herbs to go with a medium-bodied, pure and elegantly proportioned mouthfeel. Balanced, with a great mid-palate and fine tannin, it needs another year or two to come together and will drink nicely for upwards of a decade. Drink 2014-2020. Tel. The 2010 Pinot Noir Knox Alexander is another full-bodied, juicy wine. Here the fruit expression is quite direct and bold, I don't quite find the subtlety of the best wines here, but the Knox Alexander is still very pretty. It is perhaps just a little less subtle and nuanced than the Isabelle.
