Note di degustazione
The 2000 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru is a very pleasant surprise. It shows slight bricking on the rim. The nose unfolds with red berries, loam and pressed rose petals, displaying the transparency that reminds me of a fine 1993. The palate is well-defined with crisp redcurrant and strawberry fruit, slightly viscous and fleshy in texture, hints of white pepper and a slightly candied finish. I wonder if Christophe Roumier picked this a day or two later than intended. It still offers a great deal of pleasure. Tasted blind at the Roumier Les Cras vertical at Medlar, London.

The 2000 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras is a lip-smackingly good wine. Ruby-colored, sporting a nose of candied red cherries, it expands on the palate to reveal an ample, well-endowed personality redolent with tangy black cherries and currants. Lively, pure, and possessing a long, flavorful finish, it is sure to deliver pleasure. Drink it over the next 6-7 years.
