A potential sleeper of the vintage, this deep ruby/purple-colored 2001 exhibits aromas of tobacco leaf, black currants, licorice, smoke, and earth offered in a sweet, expansive, elegant but fleshy style. It appears to be even better than the 2000. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2012.

Good deep crimson. Much black fruit on the nose. Lovely, easy, open wine for early drinking. Really appetising. Mouth-filling. Long. So lively! (JR)
