Note di degustazione
85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc. Severe coulure on the Merlot. Harvested 25 September to 8 October. Relatively deep core with brick at the rim. Sous-bois , mint and herbal notes. Lean with prominent acidity. Fruit faded but still a touch of mid-palate sweetness. Some elegance but a wilted flower. (JL)

Very light nose. Pure expression of Dom de Chev but pretty lightweight – not as seductive and charming as the 1982. Still some very fine tannins lurking. Quite long. (JR)
The 1984 Domaine de Chevalier contains an unusually high amount of Cabernet Sauvignon (90%). It is well marked by toasty new oak, but there are also plenty of ripe fruit, moderate tannins, and fine depth to this wine. This is one of the few stars of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 3/89.
