The 1993 Haut-Bailly has a very conservative nose: tobacco, sandalwood and singed leather, but it is missing some vigour and charm of previous vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with a core of dusty red fruit, sharp acidity and a rather abrasive dry finish that suggests this wine should be consumed now.
