Note di degustazione
Deep red-ruby. Expressive nose combines raspberry, coffee, smoke, mint and game. Silky, rich and broad, with a lovely layered mouthfeel and good flavor definition. Finishes with broad, fine tannins. Very successful for this cuvee: the '02 may be sweeter but this is every bit as fine.

Produced entirely from parcels in the Mazoyeres vineyard (a strange piece of Burgundian legislation allows it to be called Charmes), the dark ruby-colored 2001 Charmes-Chambertin displays aromas of lively bilberries. Tightly wound, light to medium-bodied, and verging on lean it offers appealingly detailed dark fruit flavors in its structured personality. This wine should be drunk over the next 5 years.
