Note di degustazione
A remarkably pure and refined nose that is at once floral, ripe and still reflects quite primary red and dark berry fruit aromas that introduce earthy and sweet full-bodied and obviously concentrated flavors blessed with outstanding dry extract levels and superb length. This is a truly excellent example for the vintage and is one of the few '97s that will see its 25th birthday in fine condition as the balance here is impeccable.

One hundred cases of the dark ruby-colored 1997 Charmes-Chambertin were produced. Its magnificently sweet nose is crammed with cherries and creamy vanilla aromas. It is charming and sexy. Medium to full-bodied, it offers loads of syrupy blackberries and cherries in addition to possessing the required structure for cellaring. Projected maturity: now-2009. Importer: Weygandt-Metzler, Peter Weygandt, Unionville, PA; tel(610) 486-0800.
Deep ruby. Deep, aromatic nose of blackberry and brandied cherries, with strong torrefaction notes of coffee and mocha. Round and thick, with sweet oak contributing to the wine's impression of texture. The structure is somewhat masked today by the wine's huge, supple middle. Dugat says this will be his best Charmes to date.
