2007 Vosne Romanee

Good full red. Sexy nose offers ripe berries, smoked meat and underbrush, plus a suggestion of dried fruits. Displays less floral lift than the 2008s I tasted before it, and shows a slight warmth along with the sweetness of the year. Some finishing dryness suppresses the wine's fruit. I wanted more verve, but of course this wine was penalized by following a dazzling group of 2008s.

Good healthy colour. Intense, lively nose. Masses of fruit. Really tender on the palate. This pulsates with life! Vivacious and persistent. Just delicious. Great richness and vibrancy and wonderful breadth and sweetness. Bravissimo! (JR)

Bright medium ruby. Dark berries and flowers on the nose. Supple and silky in the style of the year, with fine-grained berry and mineral flavors lifted by a floral component. Finishes with good spine and perfume.
