This dark-colored wine offers aromas reminiscent of candied cherries wrapped in smoky bacon. This is an expressive, deep, intense, rich, harmonious, and extremely well-proportioned wine. Its medium-to-full-bodied character is redolent with plump black cherries that last throughout its persistent and silky finish. Anticipated maturity: 1999-2004. Very good bright red. Spicy oak and cassis on the fresh nose. Sweet, nicely textured, cleanly made and juicy, with harmonious acidity and good stuffing for a village wine in '96. Persistent aftertaste features more acidity than tannin.
