Deep red-ruby. Sexy aromas of roasted plum, coffee, mocha and tar. Sweet, succulent and fat with fruit but also possesses good thrust; shows some Chateauneuf du Pape-like notes of spice cake and pepper. Rich finish features building, slightly dry-edged tannins.

Good full deep red. Blackberry, black cherry, licorice and violet on the nose, with a peppery lift. Juicy, spicy and pure; at once dense and precise, with notes of pepper and spice. Finishes firmly tannic and persistent. I don't think I would have picked this blind as 2003.
