Good deep red. Lovely lift to the aromas of black cherry, blackberry, violet and smoked meat. Juicy, spicy and nicely delineated, with lovely cut to the blackberry, spice and espresso flavors. Finishes with very good grip. Energetic for 2009.

Good dark red. Somewhat reduced, ungiving nose suggests pepper, clove, and caramel oak. Then juicy and spicy, but currently dominated by spicy oak and peppermint, with a floral element providing lift. This will need a lot more aeration before it's bottled. Very hard to view with confidence today.
