Punteggio 87/100 · Da bere 2015-2020, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Jun 2017

Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 2007 Bordeaux tasting. The 2007 Le Petit Cheval has a very dry and very green nose that is torn from the pages of a Loire Valley Cabernet Franc instead of a Saint Emilion. In a strange way, I like it. It suits my style. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, slightly dry tannins. Yes, there is a vein of greenness, but it lends freshness and edginess to this wine. That Loire theme continues from the nose; however, there is fine structure here, and even if the finish feels curt, I would take another sip. Tasted March 2015.

Mid ruby. Light nose with some real interest and evolution but far from intense in register. Very mellow and well balanced. Truly a representative of the vintage – far from showy but well balanced with just a little tannin still there to carry the whole thing on. (JR)

Medium red. Musky aromas of currant, licorice, mocha and nutty oak. Sweet, broad and pliant for the vintage, with accessible fla vors of currant, smoke and tobacco. Finishes with seamless, silky tannins and lingering sweetness. Not especially complex but offers a nice combination of size and precision.
