Note di degustazione
The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny Les Gruenchers wafts from the glass with freshly cut flowers, spices and raspberries. This is an understated, pretty 2009. The Gruenchers is at times a bit fleeting. Otherwise it is a fine, nicely balanced effort. This bottle was quite a bit less impressive than the bottle I tasted earlier in the year.

My tasting at Dujac was one of the highlights of the two weeks I spent in Burgundy in late November/early December 2011. I tasted through all the 2010s in barrel and 2009s in bottle. The domaine’s 2009s are among the wines of the vintage. Importers: The Sorting Table, Napa, CA; tel. (415) 491-4724; Martin Scott Wines, Little Neck, NY; tel. Good bright, dark red. Subdued red fruits on the nose. Liqueur-like cherry and raspberry flavors seem a bit undifferentiated but are not overly sweet. In a rather soft, lush style, finishing with a hint of bitter chocolate and smooth tannins.
