The 2000 Pinot Noir Bondi Home Ranch Water Trough Vineyard possesses the aromatics of a DRC wine (if you don't believe me, just put your nose in the glass). Its sumptuous bouquet offers aromas of smoked meats, prunes, jammy cherries, Peking duck, and other red and black fruits. The complex aromatics are followed by a wine with great fruit, wonderful concentration, and a sweet, expansive texture that floats across the palate. (the second crop from young vines) Good full red-ruby. Cool, nuanced nose combines raspberry, strawberry, minerals, gun metal and smoked meat, plus a whiff of dill. Quite dry and cool in the mouth, with modest sweetness and depth. Acids are firm and tannins are slightly dry but fine. Not as persistent as the last few samples, but very good considering the extreme youth of the vines.
