An attractive wine made by the administrator of Cheval Blanc and Yquem, Pierre Lurton, this 2011 reveals lots of supple Merlot berry-like fruitiness, a healthy dark color, surprising glycerin and attractive flesh and roundness. Drink it over the next 2-3 years.

Deep crimson. Sweet, slightly dusty cherry. Ripe and juicy. Really quite rich and rewarding on the palate. (JH)
This personal wine from the president of Cheval Blanc, PIerre Lurton, shows pretty cocoas, plum and treacle. Full to medium body with round tannins and a medium finish. Delicious already. jamessuckling.com
The Marjosse has a ripe plum-scented bouquet with a touch of vanillary oak. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins and showing a little attenuation towards the dry, gravelly finish. Hopefully it will improve by the time of bottling and add some weight but I appreciate its natural composure. Neal Martin, eRobertParker.com
