Note di degustazione
A little more subdued than the rest of the mature wines in the lineup at this point, less clarity in the colour although still a good deep ruby, acidity keeps things alive, maintaining a focus on aromatics of red roses, blackberries, cherry pit. Enjoyable, just lacks generosity. 52hl/h yield, 50% new oak for ageing, harvest September 25 to October 6, Jean-Pierre Hugon manager

The 2000 Marquis de Terme was picked from September 25 to October 5 and matured in 50% new oak. It has quite a high-toned bouquet with Xmas cake and raisins infusing what is a seductive nose. It has better delineation and is fresher than the 1998. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, black fruit laced with tobacco and black pepper, cohesive with fine weight towards the finish. Fairly Saint-Julien in style, this 2000 is drinking perfectly now but has the freshness to suggest it will keep drinking well for many years. Tasted at the Marquis de Terme vertical.
Definitely solid and chunky rather than high-flying but very worthy with such ripeness there are almost chocolate flavours, a dry finish and impressive length. (JR)
