The dense, candied black cherry and chocolate-scented 2000 Gevrey-Chambertin Coeur de Roy is a super-ripe, tannin-filled wine. Layers of blackberries can be discerned in its medium to full bodied, deep core of fruit. This, big, structured, powerful effort should be consumed between 2004 and 2012. No offense to Peter Weygandt, this estate’s importer, but can anyone think of an easier job than having to sell Bernard Dugat’s wines?
