Note di degustazione
Violet, cooked bramble fruit, excellent woodspice giving a savoury but not severe palate. Dry but balanced, light on the palate (but that's no bad thing) and decent persistence leaving a bitter chocolate note. (RH)

The 2012 Cap de Faugères is a pleasant, mid-weight wine for near term drinking. Although the 2012 offers lovely depth and pliancy, there is also a slightly green note that detracts from the wine's overall balance. Crushed raspberries, herbs, mint, tobacco, dried flowers and gentle spices grace the silky, open-knit finish. The blend is 85% Merlot, 105 Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Michel Rolland is the consulting oenologist.
An attractive, elegant dark ruby/purple wine with notes of blackberry, black cherry and a touch of new oak, this 2012 Cap de Faugeres is spicy, medium-bodied, and nicely concentrated, with enticing texture. Drink it over the next 5-10 years.
Very dark, opaque core. Lifted, gently floral elderberry fruit. Dense, savoury, oak damping down the fruit but only temporarily, I think. A little bit tough/hard on the finish though. (JH)
