Because of the costs involved in the run of 1991-1994 inclusive, they weren’t as selective as in 1990, for example. Quite edgy on the nose. Very focused nose but a bit lacking sweetness and charm. Edgy. Rather grainy tannins on the finish. The grand vin 1996 is very different indeed. (JR)
Mid ruby with quite a bit of development at the rim. Quite delicate and fragile on the nose. Definitely ready to drink. Quite lightweight and sweet and the fruit seems to be past its most concentrated stage. Not much tannin in evidence. Hint of fresh mint. Revitalising. Silky. (JR)
Lively, still predominantly fruity, sweet nose then finishes very classically dry. Still some life left here and a good, ripe mid palate. A little dusty on the finish. Please note that two tasters thought this had TCA problems. (second wine) (JR)
