Attractive black currant, crushed rock, and damp earth along with sweet cherry and currant characteristics are found in this medium-bodied, elegant 2004. Consume it over the next 7-8 years.
B: [This wine always reminds me of Edmund Penning-Rowsell of whom it was a perennial favourite.] Ripe, clean but relatively simple nose. Excellent hit of ripe fruit on the front palate and then very ripe and yet fresh. Mid density but lovely balance with some really ripe flavours. No excess of acid or tannin. Tannins a little muted so my only criticism would be that perhaps this wine will not last a super-long time, but it should make a lovely drink. And who can ask for more? Lovely complete drink. (JR)
