Deep crimson. Very low-key nose. Round, loose, red wine, I’m afraid. My initial enthusiasm for this wine (I gave it 16 points) seems unwarranted today. What I appreciated then was its lack of excess acid and tannin but it clearly needed a little bit more of each. (JR)

Deep crimson. Something Italian about the bitter-sweet vivacity of this nose. Certainly no shortage of acidity. Round with strong attack and a lovely bottle for the short to medium term. If only every New World Cabernet could achieve this apparently effortless class... Lovely unforced texture and no excess of acidity or tannin or alcohol. (JR)
