Note di degustazione
The 1988 Gloria has a perfectly respectable bouquet: dusty black fruit, cedar and sandalwood, quite fresh compared to its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with rather raw tannin. Here, the wine has not aged as well as the aromatics, sharp and a little volatile with a strong soy note on the dry finish. Drink soon. Tasted at the château.

The 1988 is an unabashedly fruity, exuberant, herb and cassis-scented wine, with a smooth texture and easy to understand and enjoy flavors. No wonder Gloria is called a beginner's Bordeaux. Anticipated maturity: Now-1997.

The modest Ch. Gloria was only created in the 1940s, when Henri Martin – a cooper – purchased some vines. With parcels dotted in amongst the region’s Classed Growths, it produces impressive wines. Today it's managed by Vanessa and Jean Triaud (Henri Martin’s granddaughter and grandson-in-law).
