Very deep glowing dark crimson. Generous nose for a 2001 with pretty massive tannins underneath. Wait for quite a while for this – a hint of singed flavour but pretty nice wine. Classic claret build – for the long term. (JR)
Mid to dark crimson. Fine and fills all the corners – very dry and tannic. Needs lots of time. Pretty concentrated – I wonder whether it was in fact concentrated? Mme Schyler claims this is more Margaux than 2000. (JR)
So sweet it is almost sickly. Too obvious and not nearly as successful as the 2000 from this property. (JR)
